When we were babies, the fat on our body was considered cute. No matter how pudgy we look, adults would say we were the cutest babies ever. This changes as we get older, and what was cute as a baby is considered disgusting when we hit middle age. No one passes us on the street and lets us know how cute we look when our gut is hanging over our waist. The image that is left in a persons mind after they have seen a fat person bellying up to the buffet is no the most pleasant image in the world.
