Organizational Skills: A Plan Of Action

Do you think that some good organizational skills would see you achieve more from your life? Do you have many days where you might not get finished, the tasks you started to do, for whatever reason? Do you find this happening as a result of something else coming up that attracts your attention and pulls your attention from the other things you have to do? If this sounds like you then this would be the time to learn some great organizational skills.

Just like baking a cake, you need to have a recipe to guide you though, and balance the ingredients, that come together to form the wonderful cake.
Maybe if you have had previous experience making cakes, you could do this without any instructions, but generally you would end up with much less than a cake if you don’t have the necessary experience, and this is what normally happens when you attempt to start something without being well organized.

Keeping a list of the things that you need to do is one simple way to start becoming organized; Alternatively you could have a plan so detailed that every step that needs to be completed to complete each task, is itemized.

Revisiting the situation with the cake for a second, would you try to make the cake if you knew that some of the ingredients you needed were not in your cupboard? Most people would not do this, but if you happen to be a little more adventurous, you might. What do you think is the best way to determine if you have all the ingredients you need? Yep, you would check the recipe against the stock you have in your cupboards to see that you have everything to start making your cake; Operational skills for sure.

Even though it may not be practical to have a recipe for everything you choose to do in life, you can always find new ways to gain the organizational skills needed to stay on top of your game. Is a “To Do” list something you have? Grab yourself a piece a paper and a pencil if you haven’t done a list yet, and at the top of the paper write, “To Do List” Do you know the things that you have to achieve today? Are there some things that may be a little more important to do than the ones you have planned for today? If there are, you need to record them, and issue each with a priority level.

When you have learned how to manage your organizational skills, you will start to find new ways that you can connect certain tasks to make them easier to perform. For example a trip to the bank or supermarket could also double as a time to put gas into the car, or you may have to get the kids haircut as well as yours, so make a time that both can be done at the same time. Developing great organizational skills is easy when you know how.

Teaching organizational skills performs an important role in everybody’s existence.
