Whether or not eaten as a take away or in a restaurant, pizza’s have become increasingly more popular over the years with a number of pizza chains opening up all over the country. With an outstanding selection of toppings, and even make your own, pizza’s are way healthier than eating other fast foods such as hot dogs or hamburgers and chips.

You also have the alternative of deep pan or thin crust, which ever takes your liking and some restaurants can even fill the crust of the pizza palma with cheese to make them even tastier!

Nowadays, pizza mallorca can also be made inexpensively and easily from home with numerous supermarkets stocking readily made pizza mallorca bases, to make life even easier.

However if you do prefer to make your own base then you will need the following ingredients: 2 ¼ tea spoons active dry yeast, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 3 ½ cups of all purpose flour, 1 1/3 cups of water and a pinch of salt.

Once you have these ingredients, then you’ll need a large mixing bowl. Add the yeast and water and leave to stand for five minutes or so. After this time you can blend all the other ingredients in, whether by hand or by a mixer. The moment this is done, knead the dough for around fifteen minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

The next step is the most important. Working with a separate bowl, covered with olive oil, place the dough inside and cover, until the dough doubles in size. This may take an hour or so. The dough will then be ready for baking.

The next step is by far the best part as it’s now time to add the toppings. You’ll find literally hundreds of toppings to choose from, for instance tuna, sweet corn, beef, anchovies, chicken, onion, peppers, pineapple, salami, ham and of course several different cheeses! Toppings can be mix and matched to find a taste that’s right for you.

To start the base you will first need to cover the dough with tomato puree or chopped tomatos, this will make a delicious base for the other toppings. Now add your choice of toppings. You may need to play around with a variety of toppings before you get it just right!

Once done, sprinkle with Mozarella cheese (or other depending to taste), a little basil and a couple of drops of olive oil.

Voila! Now your pizza in majorca is ready to bake and enjoy! As easy as that: a few easy steps to help you create your first homemade pizza in majorca!
